Welcome
Welcome
Welcome to Nice UX Design: a celebration of small details in products that make you smile.
Each issue features some examples of nice details from the digital and physical worlds, along with the occasional not-so-nice detail where things could have been improved.
A hidden game in Overcast
Overcast – a podcast player for iOS – allows you to download podcasts to Apple Watch for offline playback. It can take a long time for episodes to transfer, so the developer added a game you can play while you wait.
It's a simple breakout-style game, but what I really love is that the bricks are your actual podcasts, so it's personalised to you!

The worst volume control
Recently I saw a thread on Twitter from @0xdesigner where a group of developers completed to create the worst volume control possible.
Every single entry is amazing – from the utterly unhinged ones, like this curling simulator, to the truly evil ones that will give unscrupulous companies ideas, like this paid subscription for changing the volume.
Kitchenaid's favicon
Kitchenaid, maker of various kitchen appliances, uses a picture of their famous mixer as their website's favicon. A tiny detail but it made me smile when I saw it.
That's all
That's everything for this issue.
